Obituary for Ruth "Kai" Anderson
Ruth “Kai” Anderson, 95, a resident of Fulton passed away on Monday May 4, 2020 at Canal View—Houghton County.
She was born on July 31, 1924 in Fulton to Otto and Lempi (Soronen) Kaikkonen. She attended the local schools and graduated from Calumet High School with the Class of 1942.
Kai was united in marriage to Edwin “Andy” Anderson on February 5, 1944.
Kai worked as Librarian for the Allouez Township School for many years.
Kai prided herself on being a lifelong resident of Fulton.
She was a member of the First Apostolic Lutheran Church of Fulton.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Lempi Kaikkonen, her siblings, Ellen, William, Margery, infant brother Edward, 2 granddaughters Darlene and Elizabeth, and her husband Edwin “Andy”.
She is survived by:
Her daughter Cheryl (Wesley) Kangas of Mohawk
her sons: Craig (Rene’) Anderson of LaCrescent, MN
Curt (Trudy) Anderson of Laurium
20 grandchildren
72 great grandchildren
6 great great grandchildren
Her sister: Dorothy Thorpe of Houghton
Her sister-in-law: Nadine Anderson of Howell, Michigan
And numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
